Trouble with the idea for here - even if "someone else" were to decide to 
do it - is that the entire UK fits 6 times into Victoria.  There is just so 
much greater diversity in terms of crops grown, growing seasons, local 
conditions here that the only way it might work is for clubs to take on the 
idea of putting something local to their area on their own  web sites and 
having someone update it.  The UK site is useful in listing about 10 common 
crops in the local area of the author - which happens to be close to the 
middle of England and so reasonably average as far as variation from one 
area to another.  However even in the S|W slopes area of NSW there can be a 
couple of weeks either way in just wheat crops - and in some years rainfall 
can make paddocks unusable over small areas but be notoriously hard to find 
out about beyond the immediate local knowledge area.

To ask "the GFA" to put this on for you is asking a bit much - but if you 
do it yourself at your local club level, then look at pooling resources, 
you might get somewhere ... however don't forget that there are as many 
gliding clubs in the UK as there are in Australia, all concentrated into a 
tiny area.

Right now I am getting reports of good-looking grain crops between 
Narromine and Temora, but they are still very sensitive to ongoing rainfall 
- and within 30 km of Temora last year there was a ten-fold variation in 
wheat yields depending on very local variations.  The canola crop is 
reaching full flowering about now - was quite landable a month ago but 
now  a dangerous choice, and canola stubble is one of the last things you 
should pick (look at it on the UK site under "oilseed rape")
