The B2000 keeps track of the nearest 7 airfields or landing places, tags
the ones you can reach given current wind and Macready etc and if you
select one as your bugout one button push (ENTER)puts you on the main
flight screen with steering and final glide slope for that place. You will
arrive at the selected finish height above the ground(If you did your
database right). One more button push (UNDO or DELETE)puts you back on task
and pushing this button alternates between the emergency field and the
task. If you fly over a place you didn't know about and MARK it you can go
back to it the same way.

The closest place may not always be the best one. There may be intervening
high ground, exceptionally bad terrain to fly over, known areas of sink, or
even thunderstorms. For this reason the process cannot be completely automated
In practice the B2000 will show lots of alternates when high which
gradually close off as you get lower/progress along track. You have time to
consider your options before they all disappear.
