I agree. There are many examples where things are exaggerated and I cringe when it happens. But if the media are going to do stories about gliding and in particular accidents, then I hate the facts being wrong. Better to inform them when asked than to ignore them.
It is difficult at the time when your favourite glider is sitting there in pieces or a friend(s) are hurt but there is no point in hiding. If they want to run a story they will, better you tell them the facts than to have the journo make something up or take a coppers word for it because we complain when the wrong thing is said.
