Re: The Allegro 2000 100hp.

Hey there Michael,

One thing which keeps being asked by my friends and members of the GC of which I am a member:
How does the plane tow in marginal-poor conditions? ie: really hot 35 - 40+ degrees.

I took a look at the table which you have added to the allegro towing page - a fully loaded blanik is climbing at 420 ft a minute, this is great, for an aircraft of this size, price and power, but I get worried when thinking that these quoted figures were from non-Australian conditions, especially when reading the tiger moth tow stories from years previous, my mind flashes to the 6m trees at both ends of our home airport.

Your first aircraft is arriving this month? Will you be doing the same kind of 'road-test' that we saw with the sinus which made a point of talking about how the aircraft performed in northern Queensland where the mercury regularly soars to over 35deg. (My mind thinks of Julia Creek while writing this...)
Is there any more information about the tow testing available?

Cheers-

Ron Marks
Northern Australian GC.

Further information.... We recently published information on the Allegro 2000 Sport Plane and some towing details for towing gliders.

I have requested additional information from the manufacturer on actual performance as many of you requested, and we have updated the Towing page on the website with actual performance figures for different gliders being towed.

The additional information is in the table at the bottom of the page
