Kelvin I know of only one gliding club webcam / weather station in Australia, at Darling Downs in QLD (www.ddsc.org.au)
In NSW the kind people at the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) show the Automatic Weather Station (AWS) data updated every hour, and with a 72 hour history, which is useful for tracking trends. I think NSW got it done during the 2000 Olympics, when they added several short-term AWS units to their network for prediction of conditions at some events, e.g. sailing on Sydney Harbour. Despite several approaches, they have not expanded that coverage to the rest of Australia. Suggest you and your fellow glider pilots hassle the BOM via their web site feedback or phone numbers. They are already collecting the AWS data, it's just a matter of them dropping it onto their web site in the same fashion as for NSW. The other useful thing are the daily BOM temperature traces from around Australia. Mark Newton kindly makes them available via http://slash.dotat.org/cgi-bin/atmos There might be one near to your area that is of some use to you.
