From what I have seen of the GFAs gliding promotions program is that it is constrained by old >fashion thinking and/or a lack of budget, and some clubs who are happy where they are, doing >what they are doing now.
Definitely old fashioned thinking. Lack of budget?? I don't know about that one, please correct me, but what I've heard is that GFA has close to a million dollars all up. Looks to me as though they don't want to spend it on worthwhile stuff!
This idea, if it is to get off the ground needs the support of the national body, and may even need some sponsorship.
Sponsorship is a necessity! Whenever you get a new watch or mobile phone, on the screen is always a clear plastic that is easy to remove and leave's no residue. What I was thinking, that when we do these movies or get sponsorship @ a comp, we could put an A4 sheet of this clear plastic with our sponsors on it just under the cockpit area. So they are shown in cockpit pics and low passes!
My thoughts anyways.
