Most members of the GFA I rub up against feel the GFA 'organisation' is irrelevant to them (at best) and a marginal, but growing pain in the ass at worst. There is a definite sentiment of grudge when paying the annual GFA membership fees that I have sensed, particularly from younger pilots.

Given the user pays principle from our govt. it would be interesting to see the cost of opting out of the GFA and be "serviced" by CASA, which at this time is the only option.
