Do you have a url for this specific task close at hand, haven't trawled NOAA for
a while.
For a while we were using the data from UWYO massaged & imported into Soarcast &
were seeing reasonable correlation with reality. Started to play with the
prediction models but they were pretty coarse in aus and time was always a bit
in short supply. Free access to to bom's grass model would be nice.
The issue with the UWYO data was still the proximity of the discrete WMO
sounding site to the airfield and the direction of movement of the airmass
although in our case it wasn't too far away. None the less it was fun to mess
with as there was a smidge more data available than the local charts ( just
enough to get into trouble with ;-)
