A real pity from a national perspective. Tocumwal has been really the last remaining full time commercial operation, providing excellent training at quite a good price. Given the recent discussion about the need for GFA to support/provide a more commercially focused operation to attract the wealthy, time poor people, this decision makes it seem less viable? Maybe a facility close to Sydney or Melbourne would do better, focused only on training? Given that Tocumwal appears to earn most of it's money from the European cross country pilots, a training focused facility (such as Caboolture)may struggle to be commercially viable?
Let's be clear here - Caboolture Gliding Club is neither struggling nor a commercial organisation.

The Super Dimona operation out of Caboolture is not training focussed, concentrating more (as I understand it) on AEFs although they do offer training, and I have no idea how they are going.
