Thanks for the Dart ID. Indeed, the Dart did once occupy a desirable position in the glider ranks, however from what I've read, it's arrival on the scene was just before the time that fibreglass gliders began to widely establish themselves. It seems as though the Dart was a great design at the wrong time and didn't rise to prominence when compared to say the Libelle.

Kudos indeed to those who fly and maintain these venerable types (not you, JR, the gliders...). As for gliders filtering down over the years, I look forward to owning an ASH 25 in say 2028, although it'll have to be supplied with its own forklift for ground-handling and elevator chair for cockpit access.

From one who flies those faster newer longer distance gliders but still appreciates the wood and fabric gliders of old.Yes it is a Slingsby Dart which in its day was a fast new long distance glider that was aspired by many pilots.

Thank goodness we have pilots who bring these modern machines in to the country so they can filter down for us to purchase fly 42 years later at a reasonable price.
