Sorry Aus-Soaring my post was meant to go to Mike directly,

Anyhow Yes aircraft was taking off from Northam to return home to
Serpentine,
Dad has seen the pilot in hospital several times since the incident, he has
a long road to recovery.

Pity it was a nice aircraft to sit in.

I wont say anymore, I don't want to taint the incident investigation that
CASA in NOT going to do.

Sorry Mike had a brain fart and didn't make the connection to the 2
different types of aircraft...Duh.

regards

Ben

>>T'was a BD5 operating from Northam.. A fly-in in progress.. engine
>>failure on takeoff, landed ahead but heavily. Pilot burns and back
>>injury from heavy gear up landing.. Lucky there were plenty of people
>>around to put out the fire and get him out..
