In my General Aviation hour building days, one of my boss's made me make calls into other aerodromes prefixed like this... "Charter Towers traffic, Papa Alpha 32, 10miles to the East inbound on decent through 3500, circuit area four zero, traffic Charters Towers" Just so he could dodge a landing fee.. I've got no doubt that an operator would've asked his pilot to operate under HDY one day, alternatively the voice recorder genuinely mis-heard the rego.
