There are several schools of thought about that too :)
Not that I'm necessarily advocating not having insurance, but if you
don't have the backing of an insurance company and you don't have any
significant assets you probably won't get sued in the first place.
It's all a numbers game, isn't it? Keep a low financial profile and
maybe you won't ever need to defend yourself. But there's a risk that
you'll have to anyway...
... And managing financial risks is what people buy insurance for,
isn't it?
