Just measuring accurate air temperature on a moving aircraft is an issue in itself. I had to do this back in the mid 70's when I worked in atmospheric research. There are lots of other problems once you look into this, mainly that once out of the boundary layer there isn't a strong correlation between air temperature and vertical motion. As for the laser device the 250 watts(that's more than 20 amps at 12 volts) would seem to rule it out even by today's standards of designing glider instruments to be battery cyclers. It is nice to see yet more people aiming to make money out of the wind energy scam though. Better get in quick though.
