Laser wind sensor?

Yes, it was a wind direction indicator on my Laser's foredeck. ;-P

(see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_(dinghy) and
http://www.laserinternational.org/)

I used to do dinghy racing before gliding. ;-)
You certainly learn in sailing to keep a good lookout and read the
conditions (hopefully to your advantage).

The only time these two loves touched is when I was driving home from
the Laser Nationals at Port Lincoln (ca. late 1990 early '91) and
overnighted at AUGC's Lochiel airfield and went gliding.

I am sure there are many others on the list who came to gliding via
sailing.

Back to normal transmission.
Have a great and safe weekend's flying
