Normally the jackals of the press descend on the accident victim while
in a susceptible state and ask the normal questions such as…

Is gliding very dangerous?
Who or what got injured or broken?
Have you had any other accidents?
Are you now thinking of giving up gliding?

And so on.

My guess is that our man put a good spin on things so as to boost the
image of the gliding movement rather than give the reporter anything
to hang a negative story off, and the result actually comes out worse.
