The phrase "Dopes on Ropes" has been used before… but others  :-)

Purely personally speaking, I don't think that PG flying has the
dynamics which go with what I call flying. For coastal PG flying, you
could easily build a PG simulator with a rope and a crane which slowly
swung the load from side to side. Not really flying IMHO.

That being said, PGs are the highest performing 7KGs wing you can buy
and they put up some impressive flights. Aerobatics in a PG are
totally insane (multiple infinites (?))

And events like the Red Bull X-C make sailplane comps look totally wimpy.
