Mike Valentine told a story of the resident cat at Euroa who often went for a flight in the Blanik curled up in the space behind the instructors head. On this occasion the cat sat on the instructors lap and as it was "only" a check flight the instructor allowed it. As the winch launch proceeded the wire broke and the "student," shoved the stick forward, the cat feeling the effect of this attempted to grab onto whatever it could. Being a warm summer day the instructor was wearing shorts, well you can figure out the result of that. It was said that the cat was then grounded for life. Bloody instructors! K. McG.
