The access settings are intentional. Authors have “Triage” access; see here: <https://docs.github.com/en/organizations/managing-user-access-to-your-organizations-repositories/managing-repository-roles/repository-roles-for-an-organization>. You can make updates by commenting under issues, using suggestions in the "Files Changed" view of the RPC-edits PR, or submitting a PR against the RPC-edits branch. > I just realized I do have permission to close issues, although the readme > says that the RPC will close the issues.
