Hello Jean / all,

I wrote down a list of tasks people might want to accomplish with
Writer/Web. You can find it below.

There are two points I am still working on: CSS and XML. I have to admit I
only have a very superficial understanding of the first, and as good as no
idea about the second (pretty bad for an aspiring tech writer, since most
standards are XML-based).

However, Kompozer shows a CSS editor in the main bar, so I was surprised I
did not find a similar tool in Writer/Web. Probably I have not looked hard
enough. Does anybody know more about CSS in Writer?

And about XML, there is an "XML filter settings..." in the Tool menu -
however I did not quite manage to understand what it is supposed to do. If
someone could shed some light on this, I would really appreciate. Otherwise,
I am just going to keep on looking.

I have also put together a sketch for the guide structure - more on that in
the next email:

So, here is the task list:

Opening Writer/Web

Inserting and formatting text

Inserting text hyperlinks

Inserting images

Mapping images with hyperlinks

Previewing in browser

Navigating the UI (navigator, bars, menus)

Spellcheck

Inserting tables

Using frames

Saving in different formats, exporting to PDF

Adding controls and using the Form design

Importing database tables, linking database contents to controls

Working on the HTML source

Using the Web Page Wizard

Please feel free to comment, feedback is very well appreciated.

Cheers,

Diego
