I am collecting information and organising my thoughts on all of this
(and related topics) and will be writing at more length, probably within
the next day or two. Meanwhile, some random comments in response to your
note...

My impression is that although LO code is diverging from OOo code, in
most cases the effect, if any, on the user-facing product is one of
additional features and options, which can be handled relatively easily
in documentation. This situation may change if/when some major UI design
changes are agreed upon and implemented, but IMO that won't happen this
year -- such things take a long time to discuss before decisions are
made.

Many thanks for the offer to create macros and an extension to help with
producing docs for more than one project. However...

The LO docs team, such as it is, may or may not want to join forces with
us to reuse material. That's a topic to be discussed there as well as
here, and I intend to start that discussion soon. If you could manage to
subscribe to the LO Docs list, that would be useful. (I've seen your
other note about past unsuccessful attempts, so I realise this may not
be an option.)
