I have accepted an invitation to join the Apache PPMC (Podling Project Management Committee) for OpenOffice.org. My writing activities, including the new book, may be delayed for awhile.
I'm looking forward to exciting and productive times ahead as OpenOffice.org develops in its new incarnation. My main interest is, of course, user documentation: how, where, and by whom it is developed. I'll keep you posted on happenings of importance to documentation and our group here. Of course, everyone is welcome to join the ooo-...@incubator.apache.org mailing list and follow along or get involved, but it's a very active list at the moment and there are a lot of posts to wade through. Most of the discussions are on technical matters of interest mainly to developers, but some are of more general interest. You can also read the archives here without joining the list: http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/incubator-ooo-dev/ If you happen to spot something that I fail to notice or report, that you think the group might be interested in, feel free to mention it here on our list. Meanwhile, we should keep doing what we're doing and improving where we can, for example by writing new material or reorganising what we've got. It looks like all the material on the OOo website, wiki, and support forum will be preserved and transferred to Apache in some way. That is indeed good news! I'm not sure about the OOo mailing lists (they may not remain active even if the archives remain available), so we are setting up a new list on ODFAuthors; when it's live, I'll let you know. --Jean -- ----------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe send email to authors-unsubscr...@documentation.openoffice.org For additional commands send email to sy...@documentation.openoffice.org with Subject: help
