It does seem that there has been way too much discussion on licensing
documents that haven't been written yet, and not enough work on writing
them...of course some will not agree, but there is still a lot of work
to do on the Impress, Base and Calc guides...and not even a mention of a
Math Guide???

We do need to get the license squared away as publishers who will try and steel our work for financial gain need to know how to do that and as people d/l the beta they will be reading our chapter done or not and they need to be licensed correctly. Time is running out.

I don't think there will be a Math Guide. I think it will just be the chapter that Daniel wrote which is QUITE extensive. If is a part of the Writer chapter.

The Calc guide is coming along. Most of the meat and potatoes chapters have been written and we now have two very nice appendices.

The Impress guide is not impressive (Sorry, it was too easy) but I would imaging it will get done sooner or later. I think Writer and Calc are probably bigger priorities.

Base will be done when the program stabilizes. The GS guide for base isn't bad (I am editing it now) and the rest will come along.

Like Math, I don't know how big the Base guide will even be. It seems to be a function that is used across multiple components and not all that much in and of itself. Probably a few chapters about how to design things, but I would imagine small comparatively. Just a hunch.

If you look at the Calc outline, there are some chapter towards the end that are kind of daunting such as notes and revision control, embedded worksheet, and data pilot. You could work one those.

Have you made any headway on the writing functions and creating formulas chapter?

I don't mean to be condescending, but I can't tell what the real purpose of your message was. People are working, and stuff is getting done. Are you looking for me to do, because there is plenty. Are you saying others aren't working, because I know there are people that are working and checking docs.

I am not trying to start a feud, I just want us all to get along. There has been some recent nastiness on some other lists, and I don't want it to start here too. I, for one, wouldn't be able to deal with it.

Have a good one,
