Daniel's instructions use a built-in AutoText entry. Sigrid, your problem probably is that in the German version, this AutoText entry has a different shortcut -- not the letters "fn" but something else. See if you can find what it is in the German version.

I see that Ian has just posted how to do it manually. Good on yer, Ian!

Cheers, Jean

Jean, Janet, or anyone who knows about fields. Could you help me solve this
problem posed by Sigrid?

Sigrid, I am *sure* there is a way, but I can't figure it out. The numbered
equation consists of two things: (1) a table, and (2) a field. Therefore, there
must be a way to do it manually. The table is easy. But I can't figure out the
field.

I'll be experimenting, trying to find a solution.

Cheers,
Daniel.
