Hey,

Two slight variations on the front page:

The first page uses a PNG image, the second a JPEG. ...

Note: I changed the bottom links colours in -4- to match the jpg.

I'd appreciate it if someone could compare these. Especially someone with a dial-up connection. Does the JPEG one (4) look good? Is it worth the 12 kb (33%) size savings?

I like making the site accessible. So if the jpeg one looks good, I'd like to use it.

I don't see much difference (certainly no significant difference) between the two images, so I think the JPEG image is just as good. And if it saves a bit of download (however small), that's a bonus.

One minor suggestion: How would it look (and is it easy to do) if you put a horizontal rule or some other visual separator above the bottom row of links, to differentiate them a bit more from the rest of the page? I don't think this is a big deal, but the row of links looks a bit odd to me the way it is now.

Other than that, I think this page looking really good. I like the size of the type for the explanatory sentence, and the logo, and everything else about it. Changing the bottom link colours to match the jpeg is a really cool touch.

Cheers, Jean
