having a second look (well, to be honest, third or fourth), I can see
the JPEG: the color in text is not uniform, this is an usual side effect
of JPEG compression, but is hard to see here. (I still think my indexed
PNG is better)
an untrained eye probably will not see, but this is what is wrong with
the JPEG (at a 8:1 zoom):
