Well, the thing is, a 56k line is a bit of a lie. First, the k is "kiloBITS" not bytes. Second, the practical limitation of a phone line is less than 56 kilobits anyways.

I thought that was the case. I was pretty sure 56kbytes wasn't rights, but I couldn't remember what it was.

But when referring to computer storage, the kilo is uppercase K.
