+1 for "writing". Contrasts with "read" in the last sentence. Also, it
might be a search keyword itself. (Someone who wants to contribute to
documentation is more likely to search on "write" than on "make".)
I like option #1, with that change, the best.

Just a suggestion: In both #1 and #2, you use the word "making". I
would suggest "preparing", or "writing" or "publishing", instead.

Subject: [authors] front page text help?
Hey,
Our SEO gal informs me that it's important to add the words Writer,
Calc, Draw, Base, Math, and Impress on the main page. This is the
current text:
"OOoAuthors is the development site for OpenOffice.org documentation.
If you wish to read documentation, please see our published chapters."
I'm having trouble comming up with an alternative. But here are some
ideas:
1)
OOoAuthors is a group of volunteers making documentation for
OpenOffice.org Writer, Calc, Draw, Impress and Base. If you wish
to *read* documentation, please see our [[published chapters]].
<daniel>This one has another nice keyword: volunteer</daniel>
2)
OOoAuthors is a volunteer group making documentation for
OpenOffice.org Writer, Calc, Draw, Impress and Base. If you wish
to *read* documentation, please see our [[published chapters]].
<daniel>As above: volunteer</daniel>
3)
OOoAuthors is the development site for OpenOffice.org documentation
(including Writer, Calc, Draw, Impress and Base). If you wish to
*read* documentation, please see our [[published chapters]].
I like (2) best, but I thought I'd ask here in case anyone has a
brilliant idea. :-)
Cheers,
