The reason the way I did it was that Jean asked me to do it that way. I
agree that your method would have been better for all concerned,

Hi Chris,
Sorry I haven't responded to your email. But I don't really have
anything helpful to say... I'm not sure what Jean had in mind when she
wrote that email.
But I /can/ tell you that Jean just got back from vacations, so we can
talk to her directly. I expect she's re-subscribed to this list already.
Though she did say she was catching up with other email.
Cheers,
Daniel.

Hi Chris,
The full book is only available in PDF, so you won't be able to edit it
in OOo. The problems I'm mostly concerned about now do NOT show up in
the individual chapter files, only in the combined PDF.
The easiest thing for me is for you to send me emails mentioning what
needs to be done (with page number), and I'll make the corrections. Copy
and paste can help speed this up. Hmmm... I haven't checked, but I think
if you have Adobe Reader you can copy text from this PDF.
Note: At this point I am not looking for much in the text itself except
things like missing words or doubled words or missing or wrong
cross-references, or things like that. If you happen to spot some
conspicuous badly worded text, then mention it of course, but general
rewriting for improvement will have to wait until a future revision of
the book.
Thank you for helping on this.
Cheers, Jean
