I'm new to the group, and I'm sure this has been beaten to death (although I can't find it in the archives), but what's with sentence

Sentence style capitalization is perfectly legitimate and it is not improper. We do have two professional technical editors here. Sentence style capitalization is easier to get right.

I understand that sentence style capitalization is simple, but why dumb down the writing process?

Why make it complicated unless there's a good benefit.

I've certainly never seen any real book with titles treated this way.

I have. I just got up and grabbed a book at random. The first book I picked had sentence style capitalization.
