I would not doubt there isn't such documentation. Both Calc and Base are
not well supported here.

I would encourage you to write this guide. As a stand alone document it
might get lost, but as a chapter of one of the Guides, I'm not sure how
or where it would fit. But I do think that both the conversion process
and the advantages (and uses) of both a Calc "database" versus a true
Base db should be documented. 

Possibly the guide could be "slightly" modified for inclusion in both
the Calc and Base guides...?

Comments from others might prove more helpful...anyone else have
thoughts on this?
