I use OOo 2.0.2 on Linux.
You might want to explain what you mean by grabbing the edge of the
toolbar. By experimenting a little bit, I noticed that the cursor became a
double arrow when placed at the left side of a toolbar. I was then able to
undock and dock it with no problems.
I can also dock and undock toolbars by holding the control key while
double clicking on an empty spot between icons in the toolbar. This is
where having Tool tips enabled really helps. If the cursor is too close to
an icon, Tool tips is activated. Move it to where no tool tips become
visible. Then this will work. Good luck putting this into understandable
language.
