A little more info:

The solution I use now is to have a different login that uses default
themes and an uncustomized OOo UI. But that requires switching between
users on the machine. I'd really prefer to be able to work all from one
user login, and wondered how some of you manage it.

I have a question that maybe some of you more experienced OOo authors
can help with.

I assume that most OOo authors are power users, at least to some
extent, and so are likely to have run into the same problem I have.
Being a bit of a tweaker, I've personalized OOo to make it work more
like I do. I've changed menus and toolbars, colors, a couple of icons,
and other things. But I also need a pristine UI for screen shots.

Do any of you have OOo installed twice, one that's customized and one
that's clean and pristine? Or do you have some other solution to this
problem?
