Thanks, Andrew, for this and the other chapter. This one (Calc Macros)
will be Chapter 12. I have submitted it for review, so it should now
be on the Review List.
I'll republish the other one (Calc as DB) asap.

I do not know if I was supposed to look at this (or if Jean was
supposed to OK what Gary's changes). But... I looked at it and this is
what I did..
- I accepted almost all changes. Comments on this...
- Gary, you formatted a formula such as =NumberFive() as computer
code. I have no particular opinion on this, but I did change another
instance to ALSO use that particular character style for consistency.
I put that in as a placeholder, in case some other style might be
created for such code. I probably forgot to add a note/comment as I
edited that chapter only with one pass and quite rapidly. The computer
code font is Courier/Courier New, as I recall. When using such fonts, I
usually changed the font size of the fixed-width font down to 11pt
(or11.5pt), if being used with 12pt TNR, so that it blended in better.
- I made changes, so I changed the date to 6-30 from 6-27.
- You had a comment that reads "The dialog box is now called: Record
Macro". You did not change the text, however. Well, I did. It used to
read "A window with a stop recording button is displayed (see Figure
2)." I changed this to: "The Record Macro dialog is displayed with a
stop recording button is displayed (see Figure 2)." I had no idea that
is what the title bar read.
Without rechecking, I believe that the GUI's dialog box name had changed
or else was different from what was stated in the text. I used version
2.3.0.
- There is another comment that reads "---- GS, 06/27/2007, 17:56 ----
When technical editing assembler or compiler manuals for Motorola's
(now Freescale Semiconductor) 8-and 16-bit embedded microcontrollers,
we used a special FrameMaker tag for file names (and bits of code) in
the text. Perhaps, we should adopt something along this line." I was
not certain what to do with this. More specifically, this change may
not be consistent across different chapters and manuals. I did see
that you made this change at one point in the document, but not in
others. I left everything related to this as recorded changes and I
neither rejected nor accepted these changes. I consider this decision
above my pay grade. Also, if we do make this change, it should
probably apply to all instances, and we should probably have an
appropriate character style for it unless we decide that the
OOoComputerCode character style is appropriate.
This is parallel to the comment above. Perhaps, some new styles should
be created so that the filenames might not all be in TNR.
Motorola/Freescale used Courier/later Courier New for a number of cases,
such as filenames, C/C++ function/object names, etc. so that they stood
out from the otherwise ubiquitous TNR font. These tags/styles served as
visual cues and were firmly in place for several years before I edited
those assembler/compiler docs for their former Metrowerks subsidiary in
Austin.
We do some things like that when differentiating between the GUI field
names and their potentially selected contents--using OOoEmphasis or
OOoMenuItem character styles. Maybe, newer styles using the fixed-width
fonts might be used, as mentioned above.
I have not yet checked this in until I see more feedback on this.
After all my comments, I must say that you did an excellent job on
this. Thanks for the feedback.
