I've never used SnagIt, but I can't see a problem with fixing the
images with The GIMP, for example?
What do you mean by "originals?" The images used in developing the
OOo Draw
software?
Exactly that. The released product has thousands of iconic images
embedded: I imagine that the dynamically constructed toolbars would be
impossible to generate in any other way, although I haven't yet found
all of them and their names tend do to be idiosyncratic.

What file/folder has the GUI images? The image zip files inside
share/config? I scoped some of them before, but there were so many...
