Were you planning on building a book? You don't need them for much else.
Yes, i translate from EN 2 RO and i need the master to compile the
chapters, like in EN version.
It's more convenient to make X-refs in OOo without a master file, as
long as the X-refs have unique names. It's probably a pain doing so,
but if you convert the ODT files to DOC and then convert those into
FrameMaker, you could make a book much easier than using OOo.
FrameMaker's X-refs work just fine across subdocuments.
However, importing anchored frames from DOC into FrameMaker (using my
FM 7.0) causes FrameMaker to crash on my Vista Ultimate. This may (or
may not) be a problem with FrameMaker 8. Adobe states that v. 7
doesn't work on Vista. So, perhaps, my anchored-frame problem may not
reoccur on XP. It's worth a try if you have FrameMaker and know how to
use it.
I don't want to commit to these modifications, as 1) i am the only one
translating, and i don't have much time 2) i don't know FM (also i'm
running linux, not vista) 3) i will need to update to future versions of
the Guides so i'm trying to be as close to EN version as possible.
