the author role. We changed this some time ago, because we had lots of
trouble with spam. I just gave you the author role. If you're currently
logged in, please log off and log in again, so that you can see the
changes.

Many thanks Sigrid. Yes I can definitely see the changes.
If I may just add a suggestion. The membership confirmation email could
be expanded a little, to include information about how to apply for
author role and the need to separately subscribe to this list.
