While we're discussing changes or anomalies...

While using the formula editor for some simple algebraic expressions, I noticed that the simple equality sign would appear formatted either as an equal sign or alternately as a wide single line, perhaps, similar to an en or em dash. Has anybody else experienced that behavior? It seems to switch between the two 'signs" on its own.

Sometimes, the editor might have its command as an = sign or other times as an equiv command. Similar behavior occurs for the congruence (equiv) function.

That command behavior, too, is variable and sometimes what is actually displayed for the = command differs (displays the dash one time or the normal = sign on another time). The version used is 2.3.1 on Vista.
