Many thanks to Regina for answering my second question, about the
v3.0-v2.x incompatibility problem. I'm glad a fix will soon be available.
Does anyone reading this know an issue number for the my other
problem, that right-alignment of list numbers does not work in files
created in OOo2.x and opened only in 2.x? (Question repeated below.)
I'm trying to create a custom numbering style that aligns the numbers
to the right (instead of to the left, which is the default), so that
when a list has more than 9 items, all the numbers line up on the
"zeros" column and all the list text lines up.
I have done this successfully in the past and have put the
instructions on the wiki (as a how-to) and in the Writer Guide.
However, it no longer works for me: OOo 2.x refuses to recognise my
selection of right-alignment on the Position page of the Numbering
Style dialog. Any file created in 2.x has the same problem in 3.0(m17).
This occurs in OOo 2.3.1 and 2.4.1 on Ubuntu 8.04.
