Thanks, Gary. I just tried the download from the main OOo website, and
it apparently only offers 2.4.1. Is there another way to download 3? I
am not using Vista, so that should not be a problem.

Reviewing documentation for content accuracy would suit me just fine
as I need to learn more about all parts of OOo anyway. In the past I
have found that people who don't know too much about the software
catch the doc errors more quickly because they have to follow the
instructions :)
Couple of questions:
1. I would be working with V3 documentation, beginning with the
Getting Started module, right?
2. I am currently using V2.4.1 of the software. I presume I will
need to download V3, right?
Thanks.
You can keep both versions 2 and 3 on your system. Because of
differences between the two, it's best to use the most current version
for your work. I still use v2.4.1, although v3.x sometimes fails on
Vista. That's probably more of a Vista issue, but Vista works OK with
everything other than OOo.
If Jean wants to get out another print version of Getting Started, then
work on that first or do it concurrently with anything else.

Follow Sak's link for m5. The OOo Web site also lists the Release
Candidates too. Try the Downloads tab on the site in the future. But if
build m5 isn't there, use the m5 link from Sak.
I will perform another uninstall and try m5 myself. It took a while, but
m4 seems OK.
However, I noticed some quirkiness with it while online (and not being
used), for some reason. While viewing the OOo site last night, m4 (in
the background) kept going through a number of crashes and restarts
automatically with its file checking procedures--over and over. Don't
know why
