I can
honestly say it will be hard for me to pass up changing them but I'll
try my
best to keep in mind your comments.
We're taught the same in Canada (or at least were back in the
Stone-Age when I was in school)... "Because", "But", and "And" are not
to be used to start a sentence.
We're also taught in Canada that it's "behaviour", "neighbour",
"colour", "litre" etc etc., :-)
So, there's another 35 million or so to add to your 60 million :-)

In another decade or two, US international English will steadily fall
behind Panglish <http://en.metapedia.org/wiki/Panglish> in usage. This
is being borne out currently in English spoken in the Pacific Rim, and
to a lesser degree, in India. "High" English will probably still be used
in the Philippines, due to its cultural and business involvements with
the US.
