let me summarise a little bit:
to Doug's advise:
I am running the latest versions of those tools.
to Theo's suggestion:
the order of starting the daemons had not been changed from previous
installations (where everything worked fine). Nevertheless I played
around a little with the order, but I have not had any success.
to alvin's reply:
we have got other machines running RH5.2 installed from scratch with no
problems. Therefore I did not expect any problems with that machine.
to Frithjof:
I ran successfully 2.0.35(+36) as well as 2.2.4 with RH5.1 (all SMP).
The Problem started with the update to RH5.2.
My System is a
Dual PII 400 on an Asus P2BDS
Symbios Logic UW
DEC FDDI
DEC Tulip Ethernet
...
... , now running 2.2.5, and still that problem :(
