Update: I completed "The big merge" of ALL the configuration files for 
libvirt and kvm.  Though I'm tracking them separately in diff. branches 
so I can still pull from upstream.

I'm using a third branch and relying on rerere to repeatedly handle the 
updates + new merge + post-merge code fixes.  I'm currently working my 
way through the first of several param. changes and making steady 
progress - with care to try as much as possible to preserve original 
behavior/functionality.

If anyone wants to follow along (or help), this is my branch where 
everything is happening:
