Perhaps next year the project is too big to support as part of Avalon. If there is enough of a community behind it saying "yes" it could move to become a Jakarta level project of its own. For the moment though it is an excerscise in multiple impl component design that may, in certain configurations, be fast enough to be used by real JDBC clients.
