I did not have time to compile the CVS version of Xfree, but I did what you
suggested (disable YUV and buffering) and it worked (no longer split image).
But I'll maybe have to compile the CVS version anyway, because I can't go
fullscreen (the screen then becomes very white until I can't see what's on
it, and I then have to reboot my PC...)...

If you would be skilled enough to compile XFree
- CVS version of XFree should have this bug fixed

Otherwise - open config dialog (bellow question mark)
Tab Video -  and disable YUV   (and preferably buffering as well,
because caching in X11 is expensive operation)
