Hi guys!

I've had a report of avifile not working in Red Hat Linux 7.2 by
a user who claims there is a glibc bug in our distro. As you can
imagine, such a bug would be considered of utmost importance to
us to fix.

I have downloaded the latest version of avifile, as well as some
previous releases to test. While doing so, I also noticed that
you seem to have had similar reports too from comments on your
website.

Both myself and Ben LaHaise have compiled and ran avifile, and it
works flawlessly. I have tested this with Red Hat Linux 7.1 and
also 7.2.

The one user that we have had report this problem about, turns
out he is not using Red Hat supplied libraries, but rather
homebrew libraries and other concoctions that were not created
properly. Due to the nature of the error reported by him, and
the error mentioned on your website, there is a good chance we
have both encountered the same person with this problem.

Just thought i would let you know that this problem is not a Red
Hat Linux bug to clarify the situation.

Hope this helps.

Take care!
TTYL

P.S. keep up the good work on avifile, it is a great app!
