With all the respect to you "war" I'm running at home 3 Linux workstations, all of them Red Hat 7.2 standard + KDE updates.
Real Player is running perfectly here and I'm listening to a shoutcast server stream as I type this email... ;) I also run aviplay lots of times (ASF files etc) without a single problem at all... Instead of just flaming Mike, Red Hat and others - why don't you put the core file somewhere so it can be checked? I happend to install RH 7.1 and 7.2 + real player without seeing a single problem.
