I didn't realise people were actually still struggling to keep the beast
alive :) I'll see it to that the patches will make it into the source
tree and that a new version will see the light in the coming days. I'm
dropping support for the old avifile (0.5) library though to clean up
the source tree a bit, but I'm sure no one is going to lose sleep over that.

A quick google search turned it up, so I'll be looking at that too.
Seems it only works for older 0.7 versions of avifile though.
