I think that's no longer the case. With a stock, unpatched GCC 4.7.1, you are probably already better served than with the Atmel-supplied, patched AVR toolchain, as the latter is based on an older GCC version. (Again, notwithstanding patches needed for the most recent devices, that's naturally where the Atmel-supplied toolchain must be better, as they can integrate a patch as soon as the device is announced.) -- cheers, J"org .-.-. --... ...-- -.. .
