Hey Tony

well rudimentary collision detection is now possible using the
boundingSphere property of an object3d and the distanceTo method. This is an
important start as it paves the way for more accurate collisions used in
rigid body physics (which i notice is at number 4 on our wishlist!). F10
speed enhancements are currently in progress, which is partly taking place
in the flash10 branch, and partly in the haxe branch. Shadow mapping is
possible using the Simple shadow class added in 2.2 (see the tutorial on
away3d.com/tutorials for how to use) but we are also making a start on
shadow mapping proper, although it may be another revision away.

Usually the best thing to do if you don't see as much progress as you'd like
on a particular feature is to volunteer to have a look yourself - that is
what the branching system is for. The current physics branch in the svn is
long dead, but we can update to the latest revision and reset things so that
anyone interested in adding this feature can make a start - all you have to
do is let us know!

cheers

Rob
